4A Adult Learn To Play Tennis-Thursday SMTennis Collect

Learn to Play Tennis! This class is designed for adults with little to no tennis experience who want to learn the game in a relaxed, supportive environment. Taught by the USTA award winning Santa Monica Tennis Collective, players will learn the fundamentals of tennis through drills and games in a comfortable, no-pressure setting. Grab a friend or come on your own and meet others at a similar level.

Why This Class: A great way to learn the game, get active, and build confidence on court alongside other beginners.

Players will learn the basics of stroke production—including forehands, backhands, and volleys —building a strong foundation that allows them to progress to the next level of technique. Each class includes a warm-up, structured drills, and game-based play to help reinforce skills.

Prerequisite:

No prior tennis experience necessary. This is a true beginner class.

What to Bring:

Water and non-marking shoes. Let us know if you need a racquet—we can provide one.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
