Description

This class is designed specifically for middle and high school students who are new to tennis and want to learn the game in a relaxed, age-appropriate setting—no experience needed. Taught by the USTA award-winning Santa Monica Tennis Collective, players will learn the fundamentals of tennis through drills and games that are engaging and built for their age group. Grab a friend or

come on your own and meet others at a similar level!


Why This Class: Learn the game with other beginners your age in a supportive setting while building confidence on court.


Players will learn the basics of stroke production—including forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves—to build a strong foundation and allow them to progress to the next level of technique. When possible, players will be split between middle school and high school courts to keep groups socially comfortable .


What to Bring: Water bottle and any light snack needed (racquets can be provided if needed)


Prerequisite: No prior tennis experience necessary. This is a true beginner class.

Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first-class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
