Description
This course is designed for students who are completely new to Spanish and would like a gentle introduction to the language before continuing into the beginner sequence.
Students focus on basic vocabulary, greetings, everyday expressions, and the Spanish alphabet, with special attention to pronunciation and listening skills. Through songs, simple dialogues, guided practice, and interactive activities, students begin to recognize and produce Spanish sounds while building confidence speaking the language.
The course emphasizes a supportive and communicative environment where students practice essential words and expressions that prepare them for the Spanish for Beginners A course.
- Material Fee: $30 payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.

Instructor
Diana Albarracin - LA Spanish School
Diana Albarracin is a native Spanish speaker raised in Boyaca, Colombia. She is an innovator in teaching Spanish as a second language, developer of curriculum and passionate about encouraging interest in younger children regarding the reading and writing acquisition learning process. She studied in the prestigious University Francisco Jose de Caldas Bogota, Colombia, and earned a degree equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in Art and Language in the United States. Diana has over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language in different schools in Los Angeles including charter schools, public progressive schools and private schools. She is passionate to see her new student's understanding and speaking Spanish as a second language.
