Description
NO CAMP JUNE 19TH!
SMBA's four day hitting camps for baseball are designed to focus on improving a player's hitting skills through specialized instruction, drills, and repetition. Players will use hitting machines, batting cages and one on one instruction. We emphasize core techniques, swing mechanics, hitting for power, plate zone identification, using strength building techniques with speed and agility ! SMBA Instruction and Drills Our hitting camps provide expert instruction on various aspects of hitting, including grip, stance, balance, stride, swing mechanics, and plate zone hitting. Our hitting camp focuses on improving various aspects of hitting through supervised stations and our batting cages. Repetition and Practice: Players will engage in a significant amount of hitting repetitions to refine their techniques and develop muscle memory. We use hitting machines, tee work, soft toss, eye-hand hitting drills as well as the mental approach to the plate! Skill Development Our goal is to enhance skills such as hand speed, power speed, agility, and the how to be effective at the plate knowing the situation and the approach. Hitters rotate through a series of supervised stations, including batting cages, each designed to teach a different component of hitting. Hitting goals: Master approach, pitch recognition, strike zone discipline, situational hitting, and bunting. Players are to wear sports attire, hat, joggers, shorts, tee shirt, bring water and sunscreen! Lunch is available for delivery through Subway a check-in!
$15 cash material fee payable to instructor at camp.
REFUNDS - Camp refunds will be issued with medical documentation or if requested at least 5 calendar days prior to the first meeting. Refunds will be prorated. A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Requests must be made by emailing community.classes@santamonica.gov Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
Makeups will not be offered for days missed by the student. All class dates, times, locations, and instructors are subject to change without notice.

Coach Hoffman is one of our top coaches at the Academy. He led our online hitting classes during the pandemic and is the current 11U Coach for the SMBA Dodgers! Recruited heavily out of high school for his hitting prowess, coach Hoffman is a scholarship athlete at San Francisco State University and is pursuing a career in pro baseball.
